The Society of American Foresters' (SAF) Dictionary of Forestry, a highly rated and valuable resource published as a hardcopy book, is now available online! This essential reference of more than 4,500 terms has been transformed into an online resource available openly on the internet. Potomac Digitek created this online resource from the SAF source material and developed an Admin interface which allows the SAF Staff to keep the dictionary up to date and relevant.
For the Architectural Woodworking Institute (www.AWInet.org), Potomac Digitek created a website and supporting programs so each of their five different member types can access the information tailored specifically for them when logging into the site. Developed around a third-party design, the site is fully integrated with a Filemaker-based back office and QuickBooks reporting tools. Custom programs in an admin area allow the AWI staff to manage key components of the site and member-level services.
To manage their offerings of continuing education and certification to the physical therapy industry, we created an customized system for the International Academy of Orthopedic Medicine (www.iaom-us.com). This database allows IAOM staff to manage students, members and faculty through their web-based administrative tools, providing easy access to data from any location. Staff can also create new educational offerings for display on the web, specifying details for courses, classes and class locations. Students can register and pay online for classes at any time.
When Management Solutions Plus (www.MgmtSol.com), an association management company from Rockville Maryland needed to integrate their Filemaker-based back office with their client websites, they turned to Potomac Digitek. We create the integration software which provides a single-sign-on, member directory, join and renew e-commerce seamlessly with Filemaker.

For the fourth straight year we have provided online voting for the Society of American Foresters' (www.SAFnet.org) annual vote. This 10,000 member organization conducts an annual vote for national, divisional, state, and local offices. Additionally, national and local referendums can also be included in the process. Potomac Digitek developed the web-based tool enabling the SAF staff to build the ballots online, send voter emails containing individual login details, tracking voting activity, and send reminders during the election cycle. Member ballots are presented with only the elections and referendums that pertain to their national, state and local standing. Results are tallied online and reports are available to show voting by chapters and other voter segmentation.
Created by the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS), LabAutopedia is a collaborative compilation of the world's laboratory technology knowledge continually grown and updated by an online community. Potomac Digitek tailored both the look and the functions of this Wiki to ensure it supported the orgnaizaiton's needs. LabAutopedia contains more than 1,800 articles which have generated more than 1.5 million page views.
The Sarnoff Cardiovascular Research Foundation sponsors an annual Medical Student Research Fellowship Program. Potomac Digitek created an online application process which allows applicants to complete the online form and upload supporting documentation. Emails requesting letters of reference originate within the system and the resulting documents are uploaded and appended to the applicants file. After the application deadline, applications are divided among reviewers who evaluate and score sections of each application via the online evaluation module. Post evaluation reports include evaluation details, scoring reports and z score calculation to normalize results across judging teams.
The National Business Group on Health (www.BusinessGroupHealth.org), conducts an annual Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles awards program which acknowledges companies demonstrating creative, comprehensive and effective solutions that improve employee health, productivity and well-being. Potomac Digitek created the multi-part online application and evaluation process several years ago. The process continues to evolve and grow. This year a new e-commerce component will allow non-members to participate.
The American Association of Medical Dosimetrists (www.MedicalDosimetry.org) provides online quizzes based on published journal articles. Members can read the article and take the associated online quiz for continuing education credits. An online transcript tool keeps track of the test results and accumulated credits for all members.
The National Business Group on Health (www.BusinessGroupHealth.org) uses Microsoft's CRM product to power their back-office. Potomac Digitek provided the integration services that form the website and CRM product into a single smooth user experience. The integration effort includes the management of member preferences which to customize the user experience as well as admin tools for NBGH staff to provide understanding of the use website features.

LNG Publishing's (www.LNGpublishing.com) online Sourcebook (www.LNGsourcebook.com) provides an comprehensive online tool for identifying and locating suppliers across the Lubricant's Industry. The online Sourcebook provides five different ways to locate listed resources. In addition, listing companies have multiple ways to advertise or feature their products and services. And keeping the information is made easier by providing participants with an edit-able version of their listing information for them modify to support their evolving business. Administrative tools give the LNG staff the ability to create and edit listings. Online advertising is also managed through a Admin interface where ads can be loaded, placed on the site, activated or deactivated, and tracked via real-time statistics. |
